Disadvantages: Not only do you have to install dtv receiver but also have to install a Power Inverter. Smaller Inverters are usually designed to plug into a cigar lighter. This leads to 2 issues. Location of lighter to TV and does your lighter work 12 volt ignition side or is it wired 12 volt constant. Ignition side will only allow it to work when vehicles ignition is on. 12 volt constant means you will have to unplugged or turned off when not in use. Failure to do so will run down a battery over an extended period. The logistics can be a nightmare when it comes to Rv's. Cabinet work is not as easy to work around. Another issue is,if you have ever used a Power Inverter before they almost always cause noise problems with the video or audio signals or both. Read on for a better answer.

Indash TV Tuners will start working again with our 12volt DTV Converter. When placed in line with the antenna you are now using your reception will return with these advantages. Better picture quality and more stations. Small enough to place in the console or glove box, this digital dtv converter needs only the front exposed to work with the included remote control. Use the furnished lighter plug or hardwire it to the same power wires you are using to power your aftermarket indash unit. Included with kit is a 3ft RF antenna cable. If you need to place the unit farther away, you can purchase a longer cable from Kmart, Walmart or any electronic supply. Since your signal is now digital your reception quality will improve. Once you place our 12volt DTV Converter in line use the menu to scan for local channels. If you move out of the area you normally stay in you will need to rescan of local stations in that area. Digital TV Signals are subject to drop totally out if your signal strength is lost. Unlike analog signals the picture would show poor quality. With digital reception you will have all or nothing. A good quality antenna is necessary. Make sure you followed the manufactures installation for your antenna for best performance. Viewing digital signals while moving is not possible in most cases.
